Stacked Farmhouse Mustard Burger

Try this irresistible burger that’s stacked with layer upon layer of flavor!

Servings: 4

Ingredients

CARAMELIZED ONIONS:
  • 1 tbsp. olive oil
  • 2 large onions, thinly sliced
  • 1 tbsp. brown sugar
  • Salt and pepper to taste
CHILI DOG MUSTARD SPREAD:
  • ¼  cup mayonnaise
  • ¼ cup Plochman’s Chili Dog Mustard
BURGER PATTIES:
  • ¼ cup Plochman’s Chili Dog Mustard
  • 1 egg, beaten
  • 1 lb. ground beef
  • Salt and pepper to taste
FOR SERVING:
  • 4 brioche buns, toasted
  • 1 cup baby arugula leaves
  • 4 slices tomato
  • 4 large eggs, fried

Directions

  1. Caramelized Onions: heat oil in a large frying pan over medium heat. Cook onions for 10 minutes, stirring occasionally, until browned and softened. Add sugar, salt and pepper and cook until sugar is dissolved.
  2. Burger Patties: combine mustard, egg and beef in a medium bowl and mix with hands until well combined. Shape mixture into 4 patties and sprinkle with salt and pepper. Cook on stovetop or grill until cooked as desired.
  3. Chili Dog Mustard Spread: combine mustard and mayonnaise and mix well.
  4. Burger Assembly: spread sauce on each side of the bun. Add arugula, tomato, cooked patties, caramelized onions and top with a fried egg
